Rebekah Morrison

Senior Accountant

Rebekah is a Senior Accountant with Bestow.  She had every intention of becoming a high school English teacher for absolutely no reason other than enjoying reading and writing, but a summer internship at a local bank between freshman and sophomore year changed her life. In fact, a single day stands out, marking the fortuitous moment that divides her life between “before accounting” and “I know exactly what I want to do for a living”.

Facts about Rebekah and her home state of Kentucky:
Favorite food you can't find anywhere else: A surprising favorite of ours is a house salad with hot bacon and honey mustard dressing, courtesy of a small SC based chain that somehow got lost and ended up with a location in our backyard.
Favorite local memory: Visiting the city during a round of interviews, picking a tree at the University of Kentucky arboretum, and marveling at how happy everyone seemed. It was a far cry from the impoverished communities we hailed from, haunted by the ghosts of resource extraction and exploitation. This place…it was different. People felt hope. We wanted that too, so here we are!
Favorite state celebrity: Tie between Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson. They are both so talented, so passionate, and incredible lyricists.
Favorite activity for every season: Spring – Opening weekend at Keeneland; Summer – Camping/hiking at Red River Gorge; Fall – Halloween on Main in Nicholasville; Winter – Newport on the Levee and a trip to Lost Art Press in Covington
Favorite Hobby: Woodworking, thrifting things for my 1860s home
Favorite Quote: “Do what you love. Know your own bone; gnaw at it, bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still.” – Henry David Thoreau
Favorite TV Show: Schitt’s Creek
Favorite Movie: The Devil Wears Prada, Dead Poet’s Society
Favorite Sports Team: The Ohio State University
